I’m originally from Wales but moved to London in 2009 to join the Police force, an exciting career where ‘no two days are the same’ and endless opportunities to climb the promotion ladder was exactly what I was looking for.
I fell in love with everything that the job offered but the reality was that the lifestyle it gave me was really restrictive. No time with family & missing making lots of memories with loved ones because of shifts.
“I always felt like there was not enough money at the end of the month and as time went on, I didn’t feel supported by management.”
To top it off, one sunny Monday morning I went into work to be told our pay was going to be frozen for 3 years and that my pension was being changed. This definitely wasn’t something I had signed up for; I felt like something had to change.
Going into work one day to be told our pay was going to be frozen for 3 years and my pension was being changed wasn’t something I had anticipated. I had to pay more in and get less out, working harder as numbers were being cut and feeling increasingly unsafe executing my duties definitely wasn’t something I had signed up for. I felt like something had to change. Then one day on duty, during a violent arrest, I suffered two slipped discs in my back which meant lots of time spent back and forth the hospital where I would have to have steroid injections into my spine.
“I decided that I needed something more. There had to be more to life than this!”
I decided to resign from the Police force and invested £10,000 in a design course. 7 months into my career as a designer I found myself at a crossroads and feeling a little bit lost as to where my career would go and whether or not I should have stayed in the Police and accepted that this was just life and we can’t do anything about it.
However, I had been watching my whole family build very successful network marketing businesses for over 18 months and it was only through watching and seeing their success that I decided to look further into this industry which i’d quickly dismissed when I first heard about it.
“It was only through watching and seeing their success that I decided to look further into this industry.”
I did a lot of research. It’s fair to say I treated it a bit like a Police investigation because this was a new way of working for me and so I wanted to make sure it wasn’t something that was going to be ‘here today, gone tomorrow’.
It’s fair to say that I fell in love with what I saw and I couldn’t get started quick enough! To begin with I worked my business very part time and flexibly around my full time graphic design job and I soon became hooked! I could see the rewards very quickly appearing because of the effort I was putting into my business right from the start and within 3 months of having started my business I was earning twice my monthly Police salary. Not surprisingly I handed in my notice and gave up the graphic design job right away.
I absolutely love what I’m doing now, I feel valued. I’m surrounded by great people, I’ve made some amazing friends. I now get to help others who, just like myself, are looking for more out of life. I want everyone to feel like this!
“Luckily I found an opportunity which would allow me to work in an industry full of self-made, successful, positive, inspiring people, surrounded by upbeat, happy, make-something-of-your-life kind of people.”
Looking back, I was so conditioned to think life was hard and you had to work in a job you didn’t completely like.
So if you’re in a similar position to what I was before I found Network Marketing and you want to make a change, I’d encourage you to get in touch to find out how I can help you.
I look forward to hearing from you!
